Unable to forward NSM logs to Syslog server.
« on: July 10, 2009, 04:29:13 am »
Hi,

We have configured NSM server (nsm2008_2r2_server_linux_x86) and NSM UI client(nsm2008.2r2_ui_linux_x86) and added the Juniper IDP50 device to the NSM UI successfully.
We followed the following steps to configure logs to be forwarded to the Syslog server
In the NSM Device Manager, double-click the IDP device to display the device configuration editor.
Click Report Settings.
Select Enable Syslog.
Specify the syslog server IP address.
Specify whether to forward packet logs to the syslog server.
Click OK.
We could not see the logs forwarded to specified IP.

Note : - We have checked the communication between the NSM and Syslog server and verified they can communicate with each other.
We have disabled the firewalls on both the systems.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kalyan
