How to Clear Sessions
« on: June 15, 2008, 05:31:16 am »
Dear All,

We have SSG550 device.

Last week it reaches more than 90% sessions and giving us notification.

To clear the sessions we restarted the device.

My question is " Is there is any better way to clear sessions through console instead of restarting device? "

Reply will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ali.

Hi, Ali,

Below are the forms of the CLI you could use to achieve that

"SSG350M-> clear session ?
<return>
all                  clear all sessions
dst-ip               destination ip address
dst-mac              destination mac address
dst-port             destination port number or range
id                   clear id specified session
policy-id            policy id
protocol             protocol number or range
src-ip               source ip address
src-mac              source mac address
src-port             source port number or range
vsd-id               clear vsd-id specified sessions
"

hope this could help.

The real question should be why you have so many sessions I believe. Are there udp services with large timouts? You could use the session alnyzer to investigare what's going on.

Hi,

on the support site of juniper is an online tool. Or use Tim Eberhards version: http://performanceclassifieds.net/NSSA.zip

For getting the session dump: setup an tftp server
In cli get session > tftp <IP-of-tftpserver> filename.txt
go to suportweb start session analyser tool load the file or start the local tool.
