Hi,

I would like to install NSM 2010.2 on RedHat 5.5. Is it supported?
I'm also wondering if NSM 2010.2 support IDP 5.

Thanks.

Hi, the following is from the NSM installer guide:

RHEL 32-bit ES/AS 4.0-Update 7 or 32-bit ES/AS 5.0-Update 3 (Minimal and Full Install)

Since the specific versions and updates for the OS are mentioned throughout the document I would presume that 5.5 is not allowed. That said, I would have a high expectancy that it would work, but it would not be supported.

Having worked with and sold the product since it's first release in Jan 04, the amount of customers using software rather than NSM xpress has fallen dramatically. I very rarely see a production software NSM. Therefore I would imagine Juniper will spend less time testing the product with new Linux OS versions.

NSM2010.2 certainly works with IDP 5.0. I use this is more than one location.

a little late on this. though NSM installer guide always refer to the minimum hardware expectancy for their application to be installed. as at the time of writing the installer guide notes, the RHEL5Update5 may not have been released. it'll work with RHEL5 update5.

for the IDP, you already know Smiley

cheers..

Hello Coldfire,

I've asked Juniper support. They told me tu use RHEL5 update 3 in order to be able to open support cases.
Yes NSM works on RHEL5 update 5, it's just not supported by JTAC.

Well JTAC only supports what Juniper mentions on the install guide.
In case you go ahead with RHEL5update5, and open a JTAC case, only mention the NSM platform that you are on.  wink In most of the troubleshooting issues, hardware specs (running OS) become irrelevant.

Finally I have installed  RHEL5update3, it didn't help too much since I have log issues.
