Title: What is the max. number of 1GbE ports on EX4600?
Post by: cemtekin on November 28, 2015, 03:29:56 pm
Hi All,
Base EX4600 has 24 SFP/SFP+ + 4 QSFP+ ports. But on the product datasheet it is written:
"In the base model, 12 of the 24 fixed SFP/SFP+ ports can operate as 1GbE ports, providing the flexibility to support mixed 1GbE and 10GbE environments."

On the other hand "Port Panel of an EX 4600" link (http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/release-independent/junos/topics/reference/specifications/port-panel-ex4600.html ) says:
"You can use 1-Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ transceivers, 10-Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ transceivers, and SFP+ direct attach copper cables in any access port."

I want to learn how many ports on EX4600 can run 1GbE at the same time. In a stack of two EX4600, how many ports can be utilized with 1GbE modules?

Thanks in advance.

You can use any optic on all ports however I think there is a power limit on copper sfp and the switch can only Handel 12 copper sfp plus remaining optical.

Hope this helps
