Folks, my both Jncia-er and jncis-er certs are going to expire on march 2010 so i have the following questions in my mind.

1. Let suppose if i start study on JNICIS-M and if i clear it before march 2010 then it will automatically re-certify my both JNICIA-ER and JNCIS-ER certifications.

OR

If i give only JNCIS-ER before march 2010 then it will certify my JNCIA-ER also?

OR

I have to give both JNCIA-ER and JNCIS-ER separately to re-certify?

Quote
Passing an exam at a higher level renews all lower-level certifications for two years from the date of passing the higher-level exam. For example, passing the JNCIP exam will renew the JNCIS certification (and JNCIA certification if currently held) for two years from the date of passing the JNCIP exam.

So if i give JNCIS-ER before march 2010 then it will automatically extend my JNCIA-ER for next 2 years but what if i gives JNCIS-ER after march 2010 so still it will automatically renew my suspended jncia-er ?

If you have the JNCIS-ER then why worry about the JNCIA-ER?  The "A" is not a pre-req to the "S".

yes i know the A is not pre req of S and holding S means you already know about the stuff of A but i just want to know the real meaning of these lines whih i quoted in my above reply Smiley

Passing the IS will renew both the IA & IS, but if your IA is expired (suspended) it will not renew by simply passing the IS.

I agree with frogmanclay however.  My JNCIA-SSL is expired, but I don't give it too much consideration since I keep my JNCIS-SSL active.
