Recover password for Super account in NSM
« on: December 13, 2009, 10:56:43 pm »
I am running nsm2009.1r1 on a CentOS server and am locked out of the NSM Gui.
Anyone know how to reset the NSM password from the command line?

Thanks. Jai.

the following should set it to netscreen:

/usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/utils/.xdbUpdate.sh /usr/netscreen/GuiSvr/var/xdb admin 1 0 /__/password "glee/aW9bOYEewkD/6Ri8sHh2mU="

it's very unlikely that the hash for your userid's password or super's password hashes to
"<userid>/aW9bOYEewkD/6Ri8sHh2mU=" or "super/aW9bOYEewkD/6Ri8sHh2mU=" respectively.
"glee/aW9bOYEewkD/6Ri8sHh2mU=" should reset super's password to netscreen if applied to the user account password represented by admin 1 0 /__/password.
