Hi,

I try for several days to connect Outlook 2000/2003 to the Exchange 2003 server with RPC. I added the standard application outlook to the role and made a resource policy with socket access.

when I login, the SAM strts up and outlook.exe is displayed in the config screen.

Afte this step I don't know exactly what to do? I try īto add the Exchange to the host file and make an new Outlook profile but nothing happend on the WSAM? What can I do or can give me somebody a document how to configure the client?

THANKS!

We had the same issue.  We set it up on WSAM but on the clients we had to set the Password Authentication to only NTLM.  If its set to kerberos or both kerberos/NTLM it wouldn't work.

For Outlook 2003 client you can get to this setting by going to:
Tools >Email Accounts > View/Change existing Account > Select your current Account > Change > More settings > Security > Change the Logon Network security to Password Authentication (NTLM)

Currently WSAM is not capable of intercepting Kerberos Authentications calls sent by the outlook client.

Hope this helps.

Dave,

Do you remember where you heard or read that WSAM does not support intercepting Kerberos Authentication?  I'd like to able to reference 'official' Juniper documentation.

Thanks

Wsam doesn't intercept any authentication. wsam doesn't look into the communication on this level. wsam only forwarding packets depending on application or server/port.

By 'intercept kerberos authentication' I meant intercepting that authentication traffic coming from Outlook.  Is there any reason why wsam would not be able to successfully forward kerberos authentication from within Outlook?  And if there is does Juniper detail it in any documentation / knowledge base article?
