Juniper EX 4200 / 3200 / 3300 as Router?
« on: June 13, 2012, 06:23:25 am »
Hello,

can someone tell me about the performance and options on the EX Series Switches to use them as Router?

I have a small network of 50 Servers. The data volume is not over 1Gbit/s atm ist about 100Mbit/s. The Idea to have a Router in 1 U is very nice and I dont have the money to buy a MX80 (5,20,40). I know that the Performance from the MX Series is much higher than an EX 4200.

But is the EX 4200/3200/3300 enouth to Route BGP announce an AS make some Vlan's?

Is an EX Switch compareable with an m7i from the Performance?

Hi,

I've got good experiences with EX3200 as routers. We use six of them as backbone routers with up to 4 virtual routers, all in seperated OSPF areas. I don't have experience with BGP.
