using AD authentication in NSM
« on: February 18, 2010, 07:09:41 am »
Hi All

I'd like to configure our NSM to use AD for authentication.  I've configured an Authentication Server (LDAP) but when I go to a user in NSM and select remote for authentication, there's no option to use the server Iv'e just configured.

Also, when I configured the Authentication Server, it never asked me for an account to do the LDAP bind with - does it only support anonymous LDAP queries ?

I should add, the version we are using is quiet old (2004 fp3r1).  We are planning on upgrading, but not for a while yet, so in the meantime I'd like to get this working.

Any advice at all ?

We use RADIUS, via MS's IAS service.

So you get all the pro's of using you AD user account and password, with the simplicity of RADIUS.
