hi,
  need to verify on how to view logs from the exempted policies i created from my idp policy on NSM.

I'm a little late on this I'm afraid. However, the answer I believe is that you cannot do this. The point of exempt is that you don't want inspection of the specific traffic/attack patterns mentioned.

If you want a log that matches the exempt rule then recreate it as a regular IDP rule but with the action set to ignore and notification section as desired. This way the traffic will be logged but not blocked.
